Bible Verse Sunday #69 and New Fan-Fic Chapter

Today's verse is Psalm 71:18:

"So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come."

In this verse, part of a Psalm in which the author implores God to deliver the author from trouble, the author proclaims that he will serve the Lord all of his life. Specifically, this verse states that the author will pass on his knowledge and enthusiasm to the next generation of believers, a worthy goal for all Christians to seek to attain. The attitude of this particular psalmist should be noted by all believers, who should learn from this example of faith.

In church today, the pastor continued in his series in the book of Romans (last week's sermon was a one-shot), teaching from the end of chapter 4 and the beginning of chapter 5. He spoke about the peace of God, and about how we should not only have peace with Him, but that He should have peace with us. Three ways that we can know that we have peace with God are 1.) You know God is not angry with you 2.) You're not afraid to die, and 3.) You have no doubts about God. In the High School service, the youth pastor continued in his series concerning the parables of Jesus. This week, he discussed the parable of the prodigal son, showing a Lego stop motion video about the story, and inviting someone to give a retelling of the story in their own words. My friend Nathan (not the one who thinks that Superman: The Movie is the greatest superhero film ever made) was given the opportunity to do this, and he delivered a quite funny rendition of the story. You should track him down and ask him to tell it some time.

Also, I recently updated my fan-fic over at bzpower.com, The Misadventures of Nobody (and X-Ray). I finally updated it after such a long time, and I feel that this is probably the best chapter yet. Enjoy!
