I would like to wish all of my readers a very merry Christmas. On this day, some 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ was born in a manger in the hamlet of Bethlehem, near Jerusalem. His birth was attended by a group of shepherds, and two years later, he was visited by the magi who brought him gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Also marking his birth was the appearance in the sky of a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God. The full Christmas story can be read about in Matthew chapters 1-2, and Luke chapter 2.
For this Christmas, we read the Advent story book Jotham's Journey in the weeks preceding Christmas. We had several people over at our house on Christmas Eve, where we exchanged gifts. On Christmas morning, my family gathered around the Christmas tree and opened gifts. I received a large amount of chocolate, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises on DVD, a bag of popcorn, a Batman t-shirt, the books Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons: A Calvin and Hobbes Collection and The Law of Superheroes, a book mark, a flashlight, a flashlight key chain, a Barnes & Noble gift card, a sweater, and a shirt which saws "Don't Twitter Please" or something like that, along with several other items.
Later, we went over to my Aunt Juli and Uncle Neil's house, along with several other relatives, and celebrated the holiday with a large amount of food and a gift exchange. The only negative thing about today was that some Grinches stole a large amount of the gifts that my Grandma Lou was going to give us. Fortunately, several gifts were not stolen, and we were all just glad to be together. Merry Christmas, one and all!
Also, the review for Miracle on 34th Street should be up tomorrow.
